These are practical starting quantities for a four-hour party serving a mix of soda and water. Use the calculator for your exact guest mix, event length, alcohol choice and serving level.

- One 12-pack of 12 oz soda cans contains 144 oz, or 1.125 gallons.
- One 2-liter bottle gives about eight 8 oz cups, or six to eight party servings.

How much soda for a party?
When soda is one of several drink choices, start with 2 to 3 cans per guest for a four-hour party. For 25 guests, that is about five 12-packs. Increase the amount when soda is the main drink.
How much water for a party?
Plan at least one 16 oz bottle per guest for an indoor event and about two per guest for an outdoor or hot-weather party. A 24-pack covers 12 to 24 guests depending on conditions.
How much ice do I need for a party?
Plan about 1 lb of ice per guest for drinks, plus extra for coolers if you are chilling cans and bottles outdoors. An 8 lb bag covers about 8 guests for drink ice.
How many drinks per person should I plan for a party?
For a four-hour party, plan about five total beverages per adult: two in the first hour and one in each later hour. Split that total across water, soda and any alcoholic choices.
How much beer and wine for a party?
Estimate about one alcoholic drink per drinking adult per hour, then split the total between beer and wine based on your guests. A 750 ml wine bottle gives about five glasses, and a 12-pack provides twelve beers.
How many cups should I buy?
